The lineup for the coming season has been announced (see below) and now it’s time to renew your HMRS membership to make certain that we can keep supporting this wonderful venture. The list of coaches includes many familiar faces. We are especially thrilled to welcome Tom Beets of the Flanders Quartet as a coach in February, 2024. The deadline for membership renewal is September 30, 2023. Details and a form for submitting payment can be found on the Membership page of this website.
The September 9 virtual session will feature Glen Shannon. The Recorder Society of Connecticut has recently announced that they have commissioned Glen to compose a work in memory of their beloved co-founder, Elise Jaeger. It is to be a four-part piece at an intermediate/high intermediate level of ability, so that it will be accessible to most players. Ruth Burbidge, one of our coaches, owns Peacock Press in England, and she will be publishing it. This ensures that it will have broad distribution on both sides of the water. We will certainly miss Elise whose cheery greetings to everyone as she signed on to virtual sessions always set a wonderful, friendly tone. HMRS members extend their heartfelt sympathies upon the passing of Elise.
