Mini-Workshop with Lisette Kielsen 10am-11:30am

Short and (more than) Sweet: a Duo Playing Session with Lisette Kielson

Though smaller in scope than chamber sonatas and dance suites, these ‘klein stücke’ for two recorders by baroque masters Handel, Loeillet, Purcell, and Telemann pack a punch! From chromatic almand to rhythmic aire, from bustling gigue to joyous hornpipe, these little pieces provide a point of departure for work on articulation and technique as well as musical style and expression. You will have the opportunity to play (via Zoom) the same part with Lisette, the alternate duet line, or both (as there will be time to switch parts)! Geared toward intermediate and above SAT recorders and treble instruments. Pitch: A=440.

Lisette Kielson performs at Early Music Festivals and in concert in Chicago and throughout the Midwest as soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.
